*Note: This is a conceptual and group project.

The challenge

The project of La Cosa Cine focused on the redesign and frontend development of the website of the Argentine medium, with the purpose of highlighting its exclusive interviews, creating a section dedicated to them and encouraging user interaction through comments, suggestions and a recommended content section, providing technical and formal information on cinema, television, video games and comics

Designing process

The research was based on an analysis of the media and its followers. Two user persons were created: a professional seeking technical information for his career and an aspiring interviewer. This phase was crucial to determine the inclusion of functionalities such as the possibility to comment, a gamification system with badges and a greater enhancement of the interview section

For La Cosa Cine, a moodboard was created with a minimalist design while maintaining the characteristic colors of the medium. In addition, a website benchmark was carried out to be inspired by the implementation of comments and gamification sections, analyzing platforms such as YouTube for comments, ComingSoon for reviews, Sensacine for navigation bars and The Seventh Art for news presentation

A closed card sorting was carried out with seven participants to optimize the hierarchy and organization of the web sections, especially the home page and the search for interviews. Subsequently, wireframes were designed to detail the structure of the information, which culminated in the final prototype

Mockups

Result

Low-fidelity wireframes were started to be drawn for home page design, flight search and travel customization. Then, a style guide was created to maintain the essence of the JetSMART brand. The hi-fi prototype was subjected to a usability test with very positive results, demonstrating that navigation was adequate

What I learned

This project underlines the importance of a growing airline like JetSMART offering an experience fit for all its audience, providing peace of mind and comfort. It is crucial that improvements are constantly reviewed and updated to ensure smooth and easy navigation, allowing users to "fly their way".
