JetSMART

Redesign project of the airline's website, focused on improving the experience of purchasing and selecting air tickets.

  • 🎨Role: Product redesign (UX/UI)
  • 🛠 Tools: Figma, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop.

*Note: This is a conceptual project.

The challenge

The main challenge was that the JetSMART website did not comply with several heuristic and UX laws which led to poor user experiences. The goal was to redesign the website to improve the visual design and purchasing process, with the aim of increasing sales and good ratings

Design process

To understand users' needs and annoyances, a survey of 12 people who had purchased tickets was conducted. The conclusion was that the visual design and ease of the purchasing process are fundamental, but the current JetSMART page did not meet these expectations, generating bad experiences.

With the findings of the survey, two key users were defined: Lucía, an organized professional who looks for offers and carry all their suitcases; and a person who helps their relatives and wants to travel comfortably with pets. A path map was also used to visualize the user's feelings at each stage of the process.

A matrix of feasibility, desirability and feasibility was used to ensure that the project met user, product and business expectations. The information architecture was defined to organize content and the Golden Circle was applied to connect with the user: Why? Provide comfort and safety; How? Through an intuitive design; What? Total control of the purchase and personalization of the trip

Result

Low-fidelity wireframes were started to be drawn for home page design, flight search and travel customization. Then, a style guide was created to maintain the essence of the JetSMART brand. The hi-fi prototype was subjected to a usability test with very positive results, demonstrating that navigation was adequate

What I learned

This project underlines the importance of a growing airline like JetSMART offering an experience fit for all its audience, providing peace of mind and comfort. It is crucial that improvements are constantly reviewed and updated to ensure smooth and easy navigation, allowing users to "fly their way".
